Change Is Hard

Friends, we started our adoption journey in February of 2016, so we are almost a year and a half in. We planned on adopting our child from Haiti, but have learned just recently that God has a different plan for our adoption. Last week we got a call from our agency to discuss the current situation with Haiti adoptions and it is complicated so I won't get into all the nitty-gritty details, but I will tell you that we are at a complete stand-still and they have absolutely no idea what the time frame will be from here on out. They said the door may even eventually close before we even get the chance to adopt. This breaks our hearts for the orphans in Haiti. It breaks our hearts for the plan we thought was meant for our family. It places us in a situation that we have to make a difficult decision that is best for our family. After a lot of prayer and guidance from our agency, we have decided to transfer our adoption to China. While this hasn't been an easy decision and there is heartbreak involved, we do feel at peace and feel like God's illustrations are all over our story even though it's not necessarily what we thought it would look like. So friends, here we are, a year and a half in, and starting all over with a lot of paperwork. I feel as though we made it halfway up the mountain and were just asked to go back down and start over. It's overwhelming, to say the least. Here's how you can help...you can pray for us as we prepare to create a whole new dossier for China. You can pray for our social worker who has to help us create this whole new dossier. You can pray for our child, who God has yet to reveal. You can pray for Haiti and the thousands of orphans who desperately need homes. You can pray for the Haitian government, that they will get their acts together for the sake of the orphans. This has been a very difficult decision and tender subject for our family. We are excited for the future and trusting the path God is taking us on; we even feel a sense of peace about it, but any time I think about Haiti, I start to tear up and mourn. We are pressing into the Lord...we are trusting Him.Be Light. Be Love. Believe.Lindy
